Victoria Secret Angel coming to my town

I guess this "Victoria Secret Angel" named Candice Swanepoel (from South Africa, I think) is coming to my town (Edmonton, Alberta) to open the first Victoria's Secret retail store in Canada. The store is going to be at the West Edmonton Mall (the supposed largest mall in North America). I think she's pretty cute!

Not that I would, but is she worth fighting crowds to go see in person during the grand opening?!

I went shopping to The Bay last Christmas season for VS's perfume and the saleslady said none in Canada. I asked what about Eaton Centre in Toronto and she said the only way I can get a bottle is to order directly online. We both agreed that it would be a big hit if they ever opened shop in Canada.

The Philippines Islands--a Third World Country, where jobs are scarce and money after paying rent even scarcer has a few VS Boutiques--Go figure!

It's about time Canada. Don't forget to to buy the wife a new piece of lingeries once a month and a bottle for X-Mas, td.

The Canadian retail chain of La Senza, which is a lot like Victoria's Secret, has been operating successfully since 1990. Both La Senza and Victoria's Secret are owned by the same company, Limited Brands. Not sure why they hadn't introduced VS in Canada until now, but now there will be more sexy lingerie ads in the malls!

went to there site and had 6 locations...waterloo, toronto and 4 others that i can't recall

There apparently is a subtle difference (not that anyone really cares):

"I expect there will be lines of people all around the mall waiting for the opening of this store," said Martin Waters, president of Limited's international division, by telephone from Montreal, where Limited Brands Canada is based.

"I can only imagine that when the supermodels descend on West Edmonton Mall, it will be chaos."

He said the West Edmonton Mall location will be a "big, flagship store" that combines Victoria's Secret and Victoria's Secret Pink, a brand aimed at "collegiate" females around 18 years old.

Limited Brands Canada, which also owns a second lingerie retailer, La Senza, says it plans to more than triple the division's Canadian retail sales to more than $1 billion within four years. In addition to her current role as La Senza president, Joanne Nemeroff was named president of Limited Brands Canada. Ohio-based Limited acquired La Senza in 2006.

In a three-pronged expansion, Limited's opening of new Bath and Body Works stores this year will give it a total of 65 in Canada.

Second, it plans to launch five Pink stores in Canada, for a total of nine, by the end of this year.

Third, "right now there are no Victoria's Secret stores outside of the U.S.A. But by the time September rolls around, we'll have four stores open," Waters said.

Victoria's Secret will open this year at Toronto Eaton Centre, Toronto Yorkdale, Toronto Square One and West Edmonton Mall.

"Limited began opening stores under its youth-focused Victoria’s Secret Pink banner last fall, and currently has four of the outlets in Ontario."

says there are none outside of usa? there is one in singapore, sao paulo, dubai, greece, and some other places

perhaps so...i guess the singapore store didn't open yet...was announced in 2009 that it would open this year...didn't say when though
