VoIP

Just ordered Vonage. $25 for unlimited long distance calling...pretty good deal. Does anyone have Vonage or another VoIP? Just curious if it's good or not.

i've had Vonage for almost two years now. I highly recommend it if you have a fast internet connection.

I don't know if this is true or not, but isn't that the telephone system that doesn't have the 911 service? Just wondering.

I used it for 3 months and switched to my local cable companies offering of VoIP

they give you a separate connection so it doesnt bog down your internet.

they now have 911. the use the address that you have on file, so if you move you have to update it. only thing is if the power goes out or you lose internet connection..no 911

I have internet/digital cable/voip phone service all through our cable company. They swapped out our cable modem for a larger one that has a battery backup. If the electricity goes out, we can still get phone service for approx 1 hr. I was hoping that the battery would keep the net up too, but no such luck. Voice quality is better than the land line I previously had, there is no backgorund noise and all the voicemail/caller ID/call forwarding bells & whistles are included. I would recommend it.
