What does 'Average power rating of opponents played' mean?
I think I understand this so I will ask just to double check...
Let's say you have TEAM A 72.4, TEAM B 76.7 Is this something valuable to look at? LOL, this is actually Texas A&M and Missouri... LOL

And that would be a reflection of performance for this game seeing that they have played tougher teams then they could cover the spread? Which they did last night it so happens to be...

ya I know... I do answer them eh... but I never listen to meself in the end... LOL
OK so... here's the second... Average power rating of opponents played: ALABAMA 76.2, ARKANSAS 76.3 Even though Alabama has the better game point averages then Noahs ARK.. ARK has the spread at -7 something ruther, but due to the nature of ARK having home advantage and a close power ranking would indeed the game be closer then 7 points... hehehe... and it so happens it did it seems... so in this case the power rating is something that made note that ARK could not cover the spread... Is this just all coinky dink to me? Like does what I am asking happen alot? or were the two posts I mentioned something that just worked out?

here is a powerrater I use to cap, but powerating isnt the end all be all
http://members.aol.com/powerrater/ it has helped me alot in Arena football What you have to remember Tatianna is every stat you can think of is "built" into the line, especially late in the season where the linemakers are just as aware as us if not more of every stat out there You really just have to use your smarts and say to yourself, this line is off for a reason, whether it be to fool us into one side or not. Dont think youre outsmarting the linemakers however. The lines are sharp

Also the example you bring up from last night does not bear true every night
Arkansas could just have easily beated Alabama, and I think it surprised some very good cappers right here at the mall. I didnt wager it, only bet on Virginia and Virginia ML, and got lucky Public perception plays a huge role and our betting patterns, in making the line. Both Alabama and Arkansas came off huge upset wins if that helps. Some games you see a clear advantage, others you dont, betting every game on the board is not smart

Oh I understand Romeo... what I think is important is to cap a game before you see the lines... you have to understand the teams before you see the money, so I have been studying games and results and trying to understand what happened and why...
IMO, you can cap and not see the money first, but once you have capped and made your teams then look at the money and see what is off... - if they are giving you the fav for what should be a dog take the fav as a ML - if they are giving you the fav as a dog then take the money and run anything else don't play... that is what I am learning... am I right to think this?

I think you are on the right track Tania
I try and use the power ratings early in the day and see what I would set a line at and then see where the money is going near game time and see if I have some games line up where I feel the pointspread is off and the money is going to the team that I feel is getting a favorable line. It has worked out pretty well historically for me, but everyone has their own way to look at a game I saw you have some Hungarain blood in an earlier thread. I am half Hungarian myself. Glad to see a few of us here are GL |

Thanks Gerk...
I wish I would have played all these games that I have been trying to cap... yesterday someone posted a poll in NCAA about who the doggies of the day would be, I misunderstood the poll as by the spread and picked Alabama but I think the guy who posted it meant SU wins... anyhoo... I need a few more days of following and then I may start posting... Yes - French/Ukranian and Hungarian/Italian... Everyone sees Hungarian tho when they look at me... LOL... I know French and Italian tho very little Russian and Hungarian not enough to have a conversation but the blood line is actually Gypsy and Hungarian royal from the 17th and 18th century or somewhere close to that...
