what ever happened to....

scratching in rap songs? Seems that the late 80's / early 90's were full of scratching but the 00's have gone away from it. I ran some errands this afternoon and was listening to B.I.G's Life After Death and that album had some good scratching, but DJ Premiere produced a lot of tracks and he is a real old school DJ type. Above The Law's Black Mafia Life had ill scratching but this and BIG are early to mid 90's. Mike Jones had some on his first album so I guess Houston is still representing real hip-hop.
