what are gamblers thinking

This weekend I went over to help a life long friend of mind with his book operation. he had a family emegency and ask me to work his e-mail and phones. He has about 32 customers and always looking for more. The way he does things a lot his people have credit lines and his new players are on deposit basis. He sets everyone up with a website of a major offshore sportsbook. All transactions are handled right here in the states via western union. All players are givin a login and password before they deposit a dime, they are paid direct into there bank account or by overnight by tuesday. He told me i would get a lot of inquirys and find out if they are looking for credit. I have never seen so many guys that want credit. In todays world, why would any book offshore or local give a credit line to someone they have never done business with.I took over 40 emails and phone calls and only 2 of the 40 had half of brain. How do these guys except to gamble if they have no money. I am in the finace field and i can tell you this, the banks in this country are not loaning out money like they once did.after about 6 hours i had enough of these low lifes. What the hell are they thinking.

I used to book. Most of my clients were college kids. I would let some of them play on credit and others had to post. There really wasn't an approval method other than someone vouching for you. As with anything else, I had a few guys stiff me, but hell its part of the game. People love to game plain and simple.........most people gambling really can't afford to do it, but that doesn't stop them.

I would make new clients post at least half of their credit line. A local here keeps new clients down with a very small credit.

He has customers in other states so, he as them post there limit same as using any sportsbook off shore. I did get him 2 new customers over the weekend. He told me by the middle of the season a lot of locals will cry foul that they did not get paid and the gamblers will say the same thing.I read a post on another site and the post said there is no free lunch. After sunday i learned that statement is very true.
