Have played it and watched it many times, quite popular here and in other parts of the world (particularly Europe).

Similar game to pool. Played on a pool table with cues just the same.
Main difference is the table is bigger and there are more balls involved.
Hope this helps.

It is pool played on a 6 x 12 table.

Basics:
15 red balls each worth 1 pt

1 each of the following colors.....black pink blue brown green yellow
Black is worth 7 pts, pink is worth 6....and so on.....yellow is worth 2.

Cue ball is white.

A ball that is neither red nor white is considered a colored ball.

Objective is to accumulate points by potting a red, a color, a red, a color...etc until a miss. The reds are not "respotted" but the colors are "repotted" on its designated spot. Once all the reds have been potted, each colored ball potted is NOT respotted.

Once all the reds have been potted, then the colored balls are potted in succession from yellow to black.

A perfect game is making 147 pts on ONE trip to the table.....

....potting a red followed by a black (15 times) = 120 pts, then running the colored balls from yellow to black = 27 points.....total = 147 points.

Yeah.....in the states, they prefer to play "BOSTON".....so that each player can tell what balls to shoot according to the NUMBERS (high and low) and COLOR PATTERNS (stripes and solids).

The pockets on a snooker table are considerably smaller than a pool table.
