What is up with High School QB's and K's?

I am watching the championship high school football games for my area today. What cracks me up is how nobody can throw the ball anymore in high school or kick a damn 20 yard FG.

Back in my day...which was about 15 years ago...we had about 10 guys on our team that could rifle the pigskin 40/50 yards downfield. We also probably had 4-5 guys that could make a 30 yard FG 7 out of 10 times. What is with these kids these days?

I totally agree there. My day was 15 yrs ago too and I remember watching my high school (Upper St Clair) play at Three Rivers a few times and it looked like a borderline college game. Now when I pop into a high school game from time to time I couldn't be less impressed.
They can still throw further than I can though lol.

Yes the Quad A teams all seem to be pretty good but from AAA down it is pathetic. USC was a dynasty back in your day quadzilla.

Yeah they were tough. I remember going away to college in '93 and in the USA Today they were ranked like #2 in the nation. I still don't know how in the hell you rank high school teams lol.

I see your point, you are probably right.

My alma mater made the playoffs this year... Our team 15 years ago would have beat them by 50
