What a week I have had!

It is only Wednesday but it has already been one hell of a week for the old Judge in Vegas. I have been to this town several dozen times in the past 25 years but nothing has compared to the experiences of this trip.

I presented a seminar yesterday at the Autodesk Conference that was essentially a retrospective of the road map of my firm’s progress over the past two years in the adoption of a software that as already begun to and will very soon revolutionize the workflow of architects and engineers. The reception of my message from my peers in our industry has been overwhelming. Autodesk is a billion dollar software companay that is focused on producing design tools such as AutoCad, for architects and engineers.

I will not attempt to explain to my CM family what this dynamic shift in my industry really means because it would only bore most of you as you can not have much of a perspective on this subject unless you are familiar with the profession.

However, I will share a couple of links with you in the hope that some of my friends at Cappers Mall can appreciate why I am walking on air as I type this message.

Building Information Modeling is an incredibly innovative approach to designing buildings. The conference that I am attending this week is particularly focused on this technology and I have been slightly surprised to find that my firm is way out in front and actually taking a world wide leadership role in BIM.

Seminar: SE13-1

Customer Success Story

This week may very well prove to be the defining moment of my career. Sorry if this sounds sappy but I just wanted to share some of this experience with my friends at Cappers Mall.

Great stuff Gregg keep up the good job. I have a friend who is an engineer. Can't remmember the exact details but with his design of a certain building in the Pacific Islands, he has interest left right and centre. It is quite unique and very well designed to cope with earthquakes, which is important down here.

LMAO! No touting for Autodesk Judge!

So when are you structural engineers going to join the rest of the free world in using 3D design tools?
