What is your goal for 2008?

Not a resolution that you know you are going to break or a goal that is unachievable but a realistic goal for the new year?

Well this will be my first time running one since I was 20 years old so I am not expecting much. I am hoping to do it in 4 and a half hours.

Which one are you planning on running? I used to be a runner and am thinking about cheking the marathon box myself this year. My neighbor did it last year and I told him if he does it again I will join him. Not motivated enough to start by myself!lol

There is a local one that runs every year around christmas time. It is the white rock lake Marathon. http://www.runtherock.com/ I have plenty of time to train which I need because years of drinking and smoking has taken it's toll on me. I started trainning about a month ago and I am a long ways away from my short term goals. But I am running 6 times a week and only doing two long runs a week with that. My long runs consist of 8-10 miles and then my shorter runs are 4-5. But slow and steady for me. But I have left myself plenty of time so I can be in shape.

looks like a good one. Well done giving yourself plenty of time to get back into the swing of things. I assume you stopped smoking as well? If so that may be bigger then crossing the finish line at the marathon! Good Luck and I hope you obtain your goal!!

Are to two goals linked as some type of incentive structure?
