Whats the biggest bet you ever SEEN someone make?

I'm @ Red Rock Resort in Vegas on Sunday.

The half-time line for Duke/Mich was Duke -6.5. I go up to play Mich +6.5 110/100.

This dude in front of me bets $4,400 on DUKE -6.5. Now I'd be lying to you if I told you I thought different on Michigan after seeing/hearing that.

Well, I did, kinda. I changed my mind and went Mich +6.5 for 1/2 of what I intended to do...55/50.

We were sitting 2 booths down from him in the VIP section. The dude just melted towards the end--kind of felt sorry for him. Kinda...

My friend bet 40K on two separate games at thegreek online last year.. he went on one of those miracle runs.. turned 400 deposit at betphoenix into 250K spread across 5 books... he went on a huge downswing in the end and was chasing back some 10K bets...he had pretty much wiped out his other 4 books but had Thegreek remaining with 80K left over... at first he just bet a game for 20K to chase back a few 10K losses from nights before. The team was down 10pts or so with 2 min to go (basektball).. somehow they came back and were able to push a -3 pt spread and I told him that nite..it was a sign to slow the hell down and pull some more cash out n enjoy it... instead of listening to me he went ahead and decided to go all in on 2 games the next night in football for 40K each for a total of 80K riding in one nite.... they both lost and his story was over...

dont feel too bad for him though.. he managed to extract bout 75K out of the books before he dumped the rest back... so he lived the high life and bought a Mercedes and had some fun over that 3-4 month period.

that was biggest bet I ever sweated(even though it wasnt my money) and they both lost so it felt like colon cancer afterword as well...

________

what I learned from it is thegreek is a REAL book where they take REAL bets of huge amounts if u call in and get manager approval. Its not just talk in this A+ book.. ...also despite people's worries about betphoenix.. I seen them pay him over 50K alone in wires n checks.. so they may have bumps in road but book paid him.. period.

I saw my college roommate go 100K into debt from a year of gambling during college. I wish I was lying. As a matter of fact, he put together a run last year on BoDog going up 60K. Then tearing through it in 3 days. I think largest single bet I saw him make was 5K.

Not sure if its the biggest bet but definitely the most memorable. Back in 2003 had a buddy lay a $10,500 bet chasing on the last day of the week with a local. The game was Bruins/Rangers (I think) with the Rangers ahead 2-1 in the last 30 seconds or so of the game. Bruins yank the goalie and are deep in Ranger territory and there's a crazy, mad scramble out front. With about 8 seconds or so Bruins tie it up and my buddy ends up owing $0.

To this day, I have never seen anyone sweat a game like that nor have I ever seen anyone so happy to win...

80K??? Jesus!

I'm w/ wildkat. I lost $300 once on Hawaii a couple years ago in Football. That was my biggest before last weekend.

Hit Wisconsin Saturday night, 330/300 only to give 330 back in the George Mason blowout (didn't know their stud was out but don't think it would have mattered).

Other than that it was a lot of stress over $100 bets. lol

Won 400-500 on march madness, lost a couple hundy in slots and won $380 in poker a couple hours before I jumped on a plane for home. Played down at South Point. Kinda like the lay-out of that place.

I've never gone over 1,000 but I am only 25. My dad dropped 10K on a Cowboys - Skins game and called me to gloat. Unfortunately for him, it was the game moss caught 2 TD's within the last few minutes to win the game. I could not have been happier.

personally wagered 1500 on a few NBA games back in my junior year of college ... i think that was my max.

but then again, this past superbowl i wagered 500 on about 6 prop bets, and had 1500 on the steelers. in total close to 5k, but wasnt all 1 bet.

sad when people bet way more than they can afford to lose. takes the fun out of it if you're worried about it

Largest bet I've ever seen was on game 7 of last year's NBA Finals. I watched a guy lay 5.5 Dimes to win 5 Dimes on the Lakers -6.5. We all know the Lakers didn't cover.

Largest bet I've ever made was $1,500. Done that a few times when I was running good.
