Question What's important when choosing a book?

Let me hear your thoughts!

Well Jack there are 3 things I look for in a sportsbook.

1. Stability- How long have they been in the industry and have they had prior problems (Do some research read some reviews)

2. Location- Very important to know when sending funds to an offshore location. Make sure that area has a gaming commision or you can lose everything.

3. Customer Service- Might not be an issue to some, but if I have to call them and inquire about something, and the person on the other line sounds like they are reading off a card and are having problems speaking english, forget it.

I have a few more, but these would prolly be my top 3

I agree with all the above but would add that I would like to do all things online including not having to talk to someone on the phone to get my funds out.

With things going the way they are, it would be very helpful to find out if your offshore book is on the Fed's "Hit List." No use opening an account with a book who is going to have to suspend activities because they were served with papers. I'm sure that many people thought that MVP and the entire Bet On Sports network was solid, and look what happened to them. Remember, it is a lot easier, and less expensive for some of these books to simply close up shop, and re-open under a different name than it is to fight Uncle Sam and his endless resources and money. Easier for them. Harder for the customer. Right now, that would be my major concern, along with everything else that has been mentioned so far. As far as I can tell, Vegas is still the safest way, and has no legal problems at all.

It can be a real mess. If you do not know someone that frequents Vegas, you are going to either have to go with a local, or find a book that may not get served this year. Either way it's a gamble. I think that any book who Jack allows to advertise in here is about as safe as any other book. I'm sure Jack and his team do a lot of research before they sign on with an offshore book.

This is a huge relief! Thanks for the heads-up Doc as I was not sleeping well worrying about this.

1) Fast Payouts. Too many books out there to put up with slow pays.
2) Deposit Fees. There shouldn't be any. Period. Same with collections, but I can understand if you withdraw all the time. Most have limits which is fine with me (like one free Neteller witdrawal a week or something like that).
3) Reduced juice incentives. Gotta love the -105 on football. It may not seem like much, but over the course of a season it is HUGE.
4) Customer Service. Sometimes you gotta call and when you do you want an English speaking, helpful person who can actually get something done for you.
5) Bonuses. Always nice to get a kickback by depositing and rolling it over.
