When buying a home Question ?

Ok so my wife and i just bought our first home and move in this Tuesday , My wife seems to think that we as the buyers are supposed to buy a Gift for the real estate Agent .

I said Fkcn that she already made 5 grand off the deal for simply showing us the house and signing a few papers . I personally thought that she shoudl buy us a gift.

Does anyone out there know what the formality is ?

I remember when my parents sold there house the Real estate guy took them out for dinner .

It depends, most of the time the actual agent doesn't get to keep all of the commission they get a small percentage and the rest goes to the broker. I'm not really experienced in the field, but it all depends on how he/she treated you. If it was a great experience, I'm sure it wouldn't be in bad taste to get a gift basket or something

perhaps a nice bottle of wine and a few Movie tickets would do

When I got my house my agent got me a gift, I didnt get her anything. I think the best thing you can do is spread word around for her and get her more business. Congrats on the new house.

First off, congratulations on the new home.

I just bought a home also and my agent is paying for the home warranty.

It all depends on the situation...I might buy my agent a bottle of wine or something since they are covering me on the warranty.

yea, doesn't have to be a super expensive gift, just something to show gratitude. but its entirely up to you, its not wrong to just say thanks

Time to set up one of the rooms as a sports room with a flat screen now.

U know it my freind

the basement is partially finished , so my computer will go down there and it will become a hockey Shrine , I have alot of Toronto Maple leafs Goodies and Jerseys i want down there .

Im lucky cause my wife loves the idea of making it into a sports Area for me too .

the big screen would top it all off for when the boys come over to watch some football

My real estate agent gave me a $20 gift card to Home Depot. I don't think you need to get your agent anything.
