Where to Travel?

I am planning a one week vacation with my wife and for the first time can afford to go anywhere in the world. We will probably have some down time, some sight seeing, and maybe one night of partying. Where would you go? It doesn't necessarily have to be good for this time of year.

I always wanted to go somewhere warm for an early NCAA Hoops tourney. My wife gets a beach/resort/lovey-dovey stuff and I get some kind of sport.

Win/Win.

Bali Indonesia (and surrounding islands) is a great place. I went there for a month and it was the best trip of my life. It is beautiful there, cheap, there a very luxurious places and if you find the right people and you have to gamble, they will take you to the cock fighting rings.

Nice spot, but not worth traveling that far for a one week vacation. You need much longer, 3 weeks minimum.

I would suggest somewhere closer to home. Such as Ipanema Beach (Rio de Jainero).

I only play football and don't have the time to before the new year. So probably looking somewhere out of the states. Wife has fascination with history and British lit so we might end up doing the UK.

I enjoyed London... the architecture, the history, the many fine beers... we did a ton of day trips out to Bath, Salsbury, etc... Did I mention the beer???
