I thought Dennis Miller had the best line about this, which I, through my decade of DJing mostly black clubs, can confirm to be generally true.

Miller said, "You watch black people coming in the club and they just feel the music deeply and move like they don't even have control over it. White people carefully make their way to the dancefloor.....where they make the conscious decision to begin to dance."
