Who is to blame? Your thoughts...

Who is to blame? US Government, Betonsports, or the 'Bettor'?

The blame always gets pointed in the other direction.........whose responsiblility is it?.....what's your opinion?

All I know, if this happens to me with my new book, I am done betting online. The fun is over!

Its not the American Govt's fault.. GEEZ comeon Nate.. This is insane.. I can assure that the American government is NOT in cahoots with Bet On Sports/MVP to cheat American bettors over $$$.

i never said it was...........just some thoughts....................but it is their fault for pursuing this..........seems to me there is more going on in the world than online gambling. Terps sounds like you work for mvp.

First, I'll agree with Terps that it is not the fault of the US government. I'm sure many have pointed this out, but they have called for deposits to be returned to US bettors.

Regarding this family of sportsbooks - we aren't sure anyone is getting stiffed yet. Now, waiting to get stiffed and getting stiffed arguably bring the same feelings. But, any company in this position is going to move at a snail's pace and evaluate all options.

Regarding the bettors, I will say this - I have seen many negative posts regarding this family (BOS) long before this news broke about DC's arrest. And, I have also seen numerous positive post on this forum and others regarding very high quality books - Pinnacle and Betjamaica come to mind (as I currently have money there). Why anyone would ignore evaluations from playing customers is beyond me. I will admit to having money with MVP long before they were a part of the BOS family, but I haven't had anything there for a while.

I'm sure many bettors were lured by the very high bonuses (50% unlimited bonus, 12X rollover, WTH). MOST of us that gamble are adults (at least in age), and I learned a long time ago that "if something is too good to be true (not that a 12x rollover is good, at any rate) . . . ." At the end of the day, there were much better places to wager, and it is definitely the bettor's CHOICE where they placed their funds.

Why shouldnt the American Govt try to get a piece of the pie?? Seriously it would make sense for them to tax the heck out of all the earnings...

Again, hate to be so blunt, you in the end,Nate, as a bettor have to take the blame..

Blaming it on sportsbooks and or the American Govt isnt going to get your money any faster, it just makes you feel better..

Some locals close shop early at a certain time.. IMO, locals are inconvenient and limit your betting options as compared to online.

Cman,

Just curious - you think they are planning on increased action on sporting events? I can't imagine many recreational bettors making the jaunt to Vegas for their wagers (unless they have an addiction like mine Or, are they happy from an overall standpoint.

As an aside, my girlfriend has been at SEC media days, since Wednesday (she's finally got the move from Montgomery to ABC 33/40 Birmingham). Said Tommy was great for soundbites this morning, unless a reporter was foolish enough to tread into those "academic" waters. Nothing nice to say about Irons, though - acting like he's already been drafted by the NFL

Now, I can definitely see locals smiling about these latest events. I'm sure the inconvenience and betting options will only grow worse for many.

One of my good freinds is a local in Baltimore... I dont like the stories he tells me about what he or some people he know have to do to get their $$$ from degenerates. I would never feel comfortable using a local.

If he is one of your friends, then why would you feel uncofortable? I have used locals my whole life and prefer them over online. My main guy takes calls whenever one his answer machine.
