The first 2 you mention are revolutionary in that they basically created the heavy metal and psychedelic (acid) rock genres. The third basically heralded the hippy subculture. 3 very important bands IMO.

To regard Jimmy Page, David Gilmour, and Jerry Garcia as "stoned out of theyre [sic] mind idiots playing guitar" shows your complete ignorance of musical talent.

Of course, to each his own. You are entitled to your opinions even if they are unfounded. I suppose some people hate blow jobs, which is cool I guess, but I'll never understand that either.

Bob I respect ur opinion but I just do not think they r talented at all. Almost all of the songs sound the same and I just dont get it. I dont like the acid rock,or psychadellic rock. Just because it is my opinion and u dont agree doesnt make it wrong. I am sure there are many bands or singers I like that u dont and vice versa. For instance my all-time favorite singer is Stevie Wonder.

I don't mean any disrespect, I just can't understand not liking those bands - just imagine how many bands they have influenced. Sure, they probably didn't influence Stevie Wonder, but pretty much every rock band since 1977 can attribute their style to one of them.

No disrespect taken Bob. Iam more of a Motown guy and that is probally y I never got into those types of groups. I also like groups such as The Ramones, Public Enemy, U2 sorry lol, Marvin Gaye, Beastie Boys,the Beatles, Oasis which basically stole everything from the Beatles, Sam Cooke, And I do like ur Misfits group. i am all over that is just the one genre I never got into
