Well if we are talking just salary – after A-Rod signs a massive contract next year – the one after this contract could be the “ billion dollar deal” if he still produces at a high rate. Let’s say he only takes like a 3 year deal next season.

Have a hard time seeing anyone else do it right now. Couple others like P. Manning and some racing and soccer stars could approach half a billion and maybe get it up there through interest once they're old.

Pitchers are too risky - he'll get $20-$25 mil a year but that won't be as high in money or length of contract as ARod's last deal.
