WHODI...your thoughts??

I have done well getting in and out of IMCLONE, with strong returns a couple of years ago. Since then and have tracked it and bought in and sold out at various numbers. My broker isn't a big fan of the charts, technicals, etc...but for some reason I have managed to guage it well as to when to get in and out.

the last 6 months, it has a tendency to drop to 33/34 and in a 4 week span, or shorter pump up to 40 ish or just under which I am more than happy to unload at and have doneso twice this past year.

It has been as low as 35.20 the past 3 weeks or so, and is trickling around 36ish. Is this another low spot preparing to zoom up over 40, I"m feeling so, but wonder what you think.

also, is it pumping up because of marketing, etc...everything I read says it should hold at this price and not much more, why does it pump up to 40-42 so readily, just wallstreet promotion?

when you get time, love to hear your thoughts, cheers.

I am looking at a 6 month chart and I am not seeing what ur talking about as far as it running to 40 and then dropping to 33/34 and then running to 40 again. I don't have much opinion on this stock for you. I know there hasnt been good news on it lately, it dropped to its SMA200 JUly 12th with a low at 33.57 and has rebouned right off it. If anything, I would wait for a pullback. As far as your broker not liking technicals, everyone has there own style. Brokers tend to just look at fundamentals a lot but dont realize that a chart can show you everything that is right or wrong with a stock fundamentally. Charts tell you everything.

I was stating numbers off top of my head, just to clarify, pulled portfolio for exact dates: here's where I bought and sold in past year twice.

sept 20th...bought 5,000 at 27.10
november 27th ...sold at 34.90

feb 7th: 29.90 bought 5,000
apr 8th: sold at 42.10

so basically a couple months turnover on both...maybe I will wait and see if it pulls back to closer to 30 again. thanks for the input. cheers.
