Question Why are football fans so hard on Brett Favre?

I'll never understand why this guy gets so much hate.

He has always performed.

He has always played hurt.

He has been a winner

He has set records

He has mostly been a positive role model

So what is the reason - people seem to hate on Favre.

Loved watching him play, was known as a gun slinger and very exciting. That can never be taken from him. I dislike him because he has now proven that he is not a man of his word. He should stand by his retirement and stop being such a bitch. People have to be held accountable and Brett Farve is no different. By not standing by his word he appears to be crying like a spoiled baby. Do I hate him, no, I just wish he would follow the path HE STARTED and learn that its his time to ride off into the sunset. He has put himself above the Packers organization.

I was a big Favre fan until this bullshit with the retirement. The way he has handled it has been a disgrace. He totally screwed the Pack the day they were going to announce his return and now acts like he doesn't feel wanted. He is acting like a spoiled brat, not to mention the fact that he was in touch with the Vikings during this time. If I'm the GM of the Pack I refuse to release him, put him on the PUP list and banish him, unless of course I can get a really good package of draft picks for him, in that case I send him out of the division, preferably out of the NFC.
