Will Ferrell tops Forbes list of most overpaid actors
WILL Ferrell and Tom Cruise are among the most overpaid Hollywood actors, with their films regularly failing to draw big enough bucks to justify their massive pay cheques, a report says.
According to the list published in Forbes magazine, Land of the Lost star Ferrell attracts the lowest return on investment, bringing in $3.29 for every dollar he is paid. Others on the list include Eddie Murphy, Samuel L Jackson, Drew Barrymore and Ewan McGregor. The biggest surprise in the top ten list was the inclusion of Cruise, who only pulls in $7.18 for every dollar he earns from the studios. Forbes said that it came up with the figures by comparing how much each star earned to how much the films cost to make and how much it earned from box office, DVD and TV sales.
