Exclamation Will Pete Rose make the hall of fame in our lifetime?

Eventually they have to give him his due right?

Why? Why not?

I wish they would but oh well. There are guys in the HOF who did far worse than rose (see Ty Cobb)

He should never see the HOF....his career as a player should be recognized for what it is a HOF career...but his actions that affected the outcomes of games including totals..that he may or may not have even bet on....was criminal...he is no different that Donaghy

c-man, Tim Donaghy did nothing for the game of basketball

Pete Rose is the all-time hit king, played the game hard and always played it right. All his “crimes” or whatever you want to call it were after his playing career and I don’t see how you can compare with Donaghy. Rose was great for baseball

No..he may not have fixed the game...but hey they may have been losing 9-0 that suicide squeeze that made it 9-1 to get the over did not affect anything....

or maybe he chose to trot a pitcher on the edge of the pitch count out there, one more inning for the third time in a row did not affect what happened the next time he pitched.....or even that time...

He had actual control over a game and he bet across state lines and his bookie knew that he had it...it sounds like RICO to me....oh and by the way he did not claim taxes on income...

He is a convicted Felon....

didn't ty cobb kill someone? I don't think Mantle and Ruth were saints either, but when they played media coverage wasn't even 10% of what it had become, so I think you have to cut a little bit of slack to a guy with 4,000 hits. They probably won't but I hope they do.

You judge him for what he did on the field as a player.......if he was a manager that won 10 world series, then I would still say that he doesn't belong in for his managing, but for his play on the field. He does not belong in for his managing.
