Woman, 62, Fights $1,431 Cable Porn Bill

YONKERS, N.Y. -- A 62-year-old retired schoolteacher is fighting with a cable company over a hefty bill for porn and gangsta rap programming she says she never ordered.

The charges of more than $1,000 appeared on Claudia Lee's February Cablevision bill, shortly after she bundled her cable TV, computer and phone services.

"They are harassing me and trying to make me pay for something I didn't do," said Lee, who lives alone.

She said she has been forced to pay $779 to the company and was told to pay $652 more or face having her services cut off.

"Every time I call, somebody tells me something different. They're not on the same page," she said Thursday.

Cablevision spokesman Bill Powers said Lee may not have ordered the pay-per-view programming, but someone in her home did. Lee claimed someone pirated her connection. Powers said the company did not find theft of service.

On Friday, however, Cablevision issued a statement saying, "We are suspending these charges pending a full investigation and we are going to work with our customer to ensure that this matter is appropriately resolved."

Lee said the only regular visitor to her house is her 81-year-old mother, "and I don't think she wants to watch porn."

I remember about 10 years ago or so, i was in high school and Direct TV dishes had just came out. One of my friends parents had it at their house. Well we would always be drinking over there at a party and I would sit there and order porn after porn because it was so easy. Dont think their bill was that much, but I know it got up there. lol I am still hiding from his dad to this day

I hope it wasn't the same movie over and over again.

The teenager daughter of one of my friends ordered a Lindsay Lohan movie (I think it was Bad Girls) 10 times over a long weekend while her parents were away.

Needless to say, the daughter no longer has those privileges along with a few others.

I did that too once. My mother finally let me get a cable box in my room when I was 13 and I went a little overboard. I think i ordered 3 movies that month and got into a lot of trouble. Never did it again.

Never charged porn on my parents account. But I do remember many nights trying to decipher the scrambled picture to make of any body parts I could see.
