Question Would you play a CappersMall "Big Brother style" football invitational?

Im thinking something like that will reward the guys who contribute in Main Street and some other long time contributors of CM & maybe take others if we need to fill spots. I would put up a good prize

Something like this - need your input. Would you play? What would make it better?

This will start with four teams of 12 on a team which I will select teams

By Friday's

Contest will be 3 parts

For the main portion - Each weekend by Friday, each player will make 3 picks on Saturday and 3 picks on Sunday. Each win gets one point.

Scores will be tabulated and the team with worst record will have someone up for elimination

Elimination Voting will take place on Tuesday's

On Monday night, each member of the losing team up for elimination will pick game/total for the Monday night game. If they go 2-0, you are protected from elimination that week.

Only contest players will vote for Elimination

Each week there will be a small, fun challenge on Wed or Thursday of each week. It's optional to participate but the Weekly Challenge winner get's immunity for the week

When we get down to 24 players, we will redo teams to two teams of 12.

I need more - what do you think? Like to put something together for regular season after some of our other contests start

Thoughts?

idea looks fun, but if you're only eliminating one person per week wouldnt it take too long?

Yes it would. We'd have to do something to get under 16 after week one or vote off more than one a week, whether it is the same team or other losing teams

Another issue I am having is if one team loses players, how the competition next week could work to be fair since Team A might have 10 players and Team B might have 12 players and more chances to win

just throwin it out there...you could have the team that doesnt win that week, each eliminate one person. You could be down to 24 by week 8 and then change it up from there

As for the teams losing players, they could either designate someone to make the extra 6 picks a weekend or if they are missing two players, then two people to make double the picks...or could just pick two players and have their 6 picks worth double

yeah that could work and point #2, I guess as long as the total picks are same amount (no matter how many team members) that's all that matters. Okay cool

I'll let this thread go for a few days and see what it gets and go from there

this sounds like a pretty good idea jack, i know im fairly new and havent contributed too much here on main street but if u got any extra openings count me in.

i think rjb is right, alll teams that dont win should eliminate a player for the first round, or until only 24 left.

also have u considered how ties would work? if 3 teams all have 80 points and the 4th teams ends up with 70 points, does only one team eliminate a player or do you have a tie breaker in mind?

Sounds good Kaysee. We'll be including members who contribute elsewhere. Haven't thought about tiebreakers but we'll need them for sure

can just pick a game to be used as a tiebreaker or total points scored in that game...everyone posts a score. closest one wins it for there team, if there is a tie, goes to the next closest...etc

sounds like a great game Jack. how about for a tiebreaker you could guess the amount of points scored in a specific quarter of the monday night game... or total yards? id like to be able to contribute to make this game working... I'll keep thinking of ideas..

you could do total points/total players

so if team a and b both have 50 pts. team a's score would be 5.0. team b's score would be 4.17.
