i buy so i dont have payments but get bored and go into negative equity after 3 yrs when i trade in so i am not the person to ask on this. plus with kids now i get my car dirty inside and that is a no no on a lease.

it depends on the situation

i buy because i would easily go over the mileage limit for a lease and i like to be able to add tinting

Have a truck, so leasing you'd lose your arse

Obviously rather buy but I might lease my next car. My commute is less than 5 min to work and cheaper payments and a nicer car would be nice, lol

I lease, it's my third one...no family, so don't have to worry about getting it dirty, mileage doesn't bother me, cause they usually eat it up next time around just so you stay with them...and the last two times I brought the vehicle back early and they ate that as well...

Buying a car is the worse investment you can make. It depreciates as soon as you drive it off the lot. If you lease a car that's resale value is high, you can actually have equity in the car at the end of the lease.

I would if I lived in teh city and didn't drive a truck... Texas is way spread out to have to worry about miles...

We measure distance in time not blocks...

I always lease for tax purposes. As for mileage you are so correct on that. My last 4 cars were all over the mileage and they basically sucked it up in the lease of my next car. The last one was the best, my penalty for mileage added up to just over $7000 and never paid a penny of it because I stayed with the same dealership(thats the only downfall you have to stay with the same brand to get the best advantage of this but I don't mind because my cars are in the Honda family, either Honda or Acura). So I didn't get any penalty for mileage, got the tax breaks because of my job for leasing and got paid that mileage money which added up to a few bucks which basically went into my pocket because I didn't have to pay the penalty. All in all a pretty good deal in the end
