Bracket Busters is back - Rules

CONTEST STARTS MONDAY 2/15

The first week will be a PLAY-IN ROUND. The TOP 32 during play in round will PLAY the rest of contest.

During the play-in round, you will create your own thread in this section and post all your games in this thread (same rules as below). It is a requirement to score your own picks before you post more picks. Failure to score your picks could result in DQ. I suggest you quote these rules below in your thread.

During the play-in round, don't give up and get in your 15 games. It is possible that just posting the 15 games could get you in (top 32 who meet requirement)

TOP 32 will move on and PLAY and then Contest goes back to HEAD-TO-HEAD format.

The contest starts Monday, 2/15 and will last for 7 weeks.

Rules of the Game

1. Top 32 from play-in round will play - YOU ARE SCORING YOUR PICKS

2. If you advance past play-in round you need to show up and participate please.

3. The brackets will work just like the college hoops bracket. After the 32 are in, I will randomly select the bracket destination. There will be 1-8 seeds in 4 conferences. The only difference is a 1 seed is no different than a 8 seed and will be selected randomly. The official bracket will be updated online weekly and you can visit the bracket here http://www.cappersmall2.com/bracket.xls . Everything else will be done in the forum.

4. The contest will be 7 weeks long. Round 2 (32) will start the following Monday and so on (PI, 16, 8, 4, 2, 1). Weeks will run Monday through Sunday.

5. You can play NBA & CBB only. For the purpose of contest odds only - we will use odds from The Greek Sportsbook. You can only use sides and totals and they must be available at the time of your post. All odds will be -110 for contest purposes.

6. You must quote your lines from The Greek at the time of your post. Do not use an old line, make sure you check the greek right before you post.

7. This contest REQUIRES that you score your own contest. Each matchup will keep track of their own scores for the week daily as they make the next days pick. If your opponent has a problem with a score, you will bring it to my attention.

8. After Sunday of each week, I will confirm the final scores and I will update the brackets.

9. The week will run from MONDAY thru SUNDAY.

10. Each player must play 15 picks in the week. MAX OF 5 PER DAY. You do NOT have to post all picks together but they do have to be posted before the SCHEDULED game start (not actual start time). The CM clock will be official and no exceptions here.

11. The 15 picks must be designated like - You will be allowed (5) one unit picks, (5) two unit picks, (3) three unit picks and (2) 5 unit picks. Each pick will be scored 110/100 per unit unless a different line is specified. LESS than 15 picks in the week will be automatic FORFEITURE.

12. You are playing head to head vs. your opponent only.

13. Cancelled games: If for any reason a game gets cancelled, it will not be held against you. If you are able to see it, you may pick another game. If you do not make another pick, your week and score will be based on 14 picks.

14. Less than 15 picks will be automatic FORFEIT

15. You may post anytime before a game as long as it is prior to the game.

*** 16. This has caused some issues in past contests. On Friday, Saturday, Sunday ONLY - you may not play the same or opposite games as your opponent so post first to control what games you pick (excluding play-in round). If you post the same game as your opponent on Fri, Sat, Sun - it simply will NOT count.

17. If you do not specify if the pick is a 5 unit or 3 unit, etc – they will count as 1 unit unless you make the change (reply). If you do not have one point it will be the lowest you have remaining in order of what you have remaining.

18. If the game is official with the sport, it's official here.

19. PUSHES – This will be a push in your record and does count towards 15 games. You do not make this up.

20. Any rule not mentioned here will be decided by me as things come up. Hopefully they will not. I think I covered all of the rules. If something comes up we will deal with it as fair as possible.

PRIZE Winner - $500 CASH
In order to receive the full prize amount, you must be active posting in our forums during entire contest, excluding contests. Just saying GL to one person will not count as being active. Inactive will win 20% value

I think 2nd place should get a T-shirt , would be a bummer to go all that way and get nothing

Why don't you just send Gobbler a T-shirt Jack since he's obviously upset he didn't get one for coming in second in that playoff contest, would save a lot more of these beating around the bush posts
