Talking #13 Tennessee Blasts #3 Pittsburgh

8 Point Underdog Embarasses #3 Pitt
by Seanie Mac

It was supposed to be a good game, and it was, until Pitt fell behind by 10 early and never could get back into the game. Jamie Dixon was outcoached all game by Bruce Pearl, and the Pitt players were just simply outclassed from start to finish. The Panthers had no answer for Scotty Hopson who scored at will on the soft Panthers defense. One analyst said "it's one of the most embarrassing games I have seen a team play this year," referring to how poor the Panthers played. They looked uninspired, poorly coached, and flat out terrible. The Vols capitalized on being the faster, stronger, longer, and better coached team all game.*

More of the same from the Pitt basketball program. Like clockwork when the Panthers reach a high ranking they get upset almost every time. Season is only going to get harder for the Panthers if they don't start learning how to shoot the orange ball into the white hoop. Even with Tenn committing over 30 fouls, Pitt could not get anything going from the field or on the line. The final score doesn't depict how close this game wasn't, bunch of garbage points for Pitt in the last 2 minutes as Tenn starting celebrating the win.*

Players of the Game

Tenn - Scotty Hopson 27-3-1
Pitt - Brad Wanamaker 21-5-8

Now i know what you are thinking, sweetleaf said that Ashton Gibbs was Pitt's best player. Well he was wrong. As I stated, and Jay Bilas said several times, "Wanamaker is the most complete player on the Panthers roster." and "Wanamaker is the lone bright spot for this Pitt team." Cant say I'm shocked as I already knew that. Fact is Philly boys come to play in big games, and don't disappear like "Mr. Lottery Pick" Gibbs.

Whos is the best linebacker in the NFL

Quote of the game

"Tennessee manhandled them" -Jay Bilas.

My brother, who is a Pitt fan for some reason, was at the game. This is his response via text..

"God dammit, man. I'm tired of this bullshit every year. I'm tired of rooting for Pitt and the Pirates every year while everybody else forgets all about them and they just shit on us real fans anyway. I'm ****in tired of it."

Sounds about right, neither of the two are serious contenders every year. I watched the whole game just so I could confirm to myself that Wanamker is the best player on Pitt. Gibbs had like 3 points in the 1h and he's your team leader lol? Pitt is gonna get torched by faster and longer teams all year, they were gassed halfway thru the 2h, and only cut the deficit to single digits after Tenn packed it in for the day.

Gibbs had a bad day shooting, thats not good for Pitt, best shooter, still had 15 points, hitting a key 3 to get it close.....cant win them all.

Pitt's foul shooting - 25 of 42 ....

have some fun with it, its alittle early yet....
