Carl Edwards penalized with 3 weeks' probation.

Wow.....way to NOT prove a point. What a joke....I guess it's a good thing that NASCAR is slowly, but surely reaching their demise.

NASCAR president Mike Helton said Edwards acted unacceptably Sunday but did not cross the line in what the sanctioning body will allow this season. NASCAR promised in January to give the drivers more leeway in policing themselves and settling scores in an effort to energize the sport.

At the cost of the driver's lives, career, money, driver points??? What a joke.....

If he did not act unacceptably, why was he black flagged and parked?

Lots of drivers get black flagged for rough driving. Hamlin got black flagged when he had to straighten little Brad out. But NASCAR didn't suspend him either because they know Keselowski is the problem. If they suspend anyone it should be Keselowski until he learns to drive with the big boys.

NASCAR will get hammered when this "lazy" attitude towards punishment yields a fatality from a driver or spectator.

More fans got hurt when Keselowski wrecked Edwards with "good hard racing" than either of the retaliations against him. So I doubt there will be an uproar. Fans should be scared that guys like Keselowski who can't drive are allowed to race with the real drivers before they are ready. They are the real menace. Maybe NASCAR will do something about these kids before they hurt someone.

It's a little different when a wreck intentionally happens....

You're right. But if no one does anything about Keselowski he'll just keep wrecking good drivers. So hopefully Hamlin and Edwards have taught him a lesson and he becomes a better driver from here on out. But if he keeps under cutting other drivers I hope they keep putting him in the wall until he figures it out. And I bet they do.
