Nadal inarguably better than Fed now

The Wimbledon win was a symbol that Nadal was ready to be #1 in both rankings and the public. Now there is no argument at all.

Doesn't matter if Fed beats Sampras, Nadal will be right behind to shatter whatever he ends up with.

No.

Nadal will have the same issue Kim Clijsters had with her knees.
He also will suffer more forearm and shoulder injuries in the long run.
To be 21 and have both knees abused time in and time out with all the sliding.
There is a reason why a player such as Agassi lasted a long time, his footwork was crucial and he wasn't overpowering.

I had Nadal ML for a few units and I"m happy for the win, he will be...if not already is a legend but in terms of breaking records that Fed holds or even Sampras....that's highly unlikely

i don't think it will happen either..there will always be the skeptics..just like when federer was suppose to be the next big thing in the earlier part of this decade..and when he didn't immediately produce people said he was overhyped and will not happen..then he finally came into form and you know what has happened since..same for nadal..no immediate production and then bam..look has happened..now the talk shifts for the sake writers and commentators to shout their mouths off..shit becomes too fickle..federer was written off when he lost wimbledon and then won the us open and made another major final to start this year..it is all talk just for the sake of talk..nobody really knows what will happen..always speculation so the people who are now in the business and working vicariously through these people because they, themselves, could not amount to jack shit in their careers

The past 2 years? Hahah ok bud.

Watch more Nadal and his style of play. Look at his grip and look at the amount of abuse his knees take on hardcourt surfaces.

Though he may very well be one of the best conditioned players on tour, the sliding he does on all surfaces effects his joints.

His ball striking adds more tension to his elbows than most people think.

Federer wasn't considered the next big thing. He had talent and he even admits himself in interviews that he could of won more major tournaments had his mental game been more polished.

This is where Nadal has an advantage. His mental strength is absolutely phenomenal. He has natural abilities that not a lot of 21 year olds have. However at still a young age to suffer, injuries that he has that is not a good sign. He does have a great coaching and physio staff with him so that does ease the tension, but I'm waiting for is one major injury...I would be curious to see how he rebounds.

I'm waiting to see a player such as Tiger Woods return. They both have great mental abilities that just seperates them from the rest.

At the end of the day like you said, we'll just have to watch and see a legend in the making. Though I don't want to see any bad things happen to Nadal, I just personally think his style of play can have a negative effect on his body.

lol, ask Michael Chang how long you can last outrunning everyone on the court. Somehow I don't think he's going to say you can last for 15 Grand Slams...

Wow I can't believe it, I actually agree with you on something! lol

Nadal is that thorn on Federer's butt that you just cant pick out. AS good as you are, there will always be one team/player that has your number.

The difference is if this is the best Nadal gets...which is pretty damn good....it barely is better then Federer as second best in the road.....

Fed will beat Pete...5 years when Nadal is still struggling to make it to the semis in the hard court tournys.....

wde

I"d like to see Nadal play Federer in Wimbledon again.

But in the meantime I think it would freaking hilarious if some how Nadal messes up at the French Open and Fed wins it.

I do think with what Fed has done in his career he really really needs this French Open badly before he calls it a day.

Oh and for those who don't think Hard Court surfaces doesn't take it's effect on players....there is an article on ESPN about Nadal requesting less hardcourt surfaces lol....could be he's scared though lol.
