Is USA basketball a lock? Since last olympics Wade, Lebron, and Melo have had time to develop. The addition of experience players Jason Kidd and all star Kobe Bryant is huge. Finally have a pure 3 point shotter in Redd. And I think the biggest difference is Dwight Howard. The guy is a monster and internationally no one can defend him. Is there any value here? Outside of Spain, Argentina, and Greece, everyone else looks like a push over.

The Americans revert back to the dream team days

Why is China's expected medal count so high? Its something like 30 or 40 medals more than they received in the 04' games.

Well as a communist government they can pretty much force their whole country to point to these olympics. They've been hunting down the best athletes for each sport pretty much at conception and pointing them at these games.

i am guessing they will have lines for all olympic bets...they offer handball, field hockey, etc for international competitions like world championships, so i would expect them to offer them for the olympics as well

they are more or less favoured because of the high amount of delegates for the games...they are going to break a record ( i do believe) with the most amount of athletes competing...so with that in mind they have the best chance to win the highest amount of medals...especially since they dominate so many sports like table tennis, diving, and badminton...so outside of those events they still have chance to take home a lot of other medals because they are offering so many athletes to compete

Never knew badminton or ping pong was an olympic sport. Obviously the Chinese win those events.

Many of them are hired to keep the North Koreans from sneaking over...actually not funny that looks like the bleakest (No. Korea) country in the world.

there are a couple of countries that i would say are bleaker than north korea...somalia being the worst country in the world (if you can even count it as a country since it doesnt have an existing ruling govt)

I'll bite if you say its close to a lock. I don't know much about most of these events. Only ones I'm personally playing are USA to win gold in basketball, and Usain Bolt in the sprinting events. The Jamaican is the real deal.
