Spreads are designed to make the game a 50/50 proposition, and there really is no such thing as 'research'. There is no angle on any game that you can find that vegas don't know about.

The Public likes to bet the better teams, like GB, NO, NE in the NFL. The Bulls, Heat, Spurs, Lakers in the NBA.

Where the public will make the most mistakes is when they are forced to choose between two teams in med/small markets and the point spread is under 4.

That's where looking at the concensus pick will help you. Look at the games without the 'public teams'. Games with teams that are close in talent/market. These are the games where the public will make the most mistakes.

one thing that is constant in all sports is the human psychological emotional side and when you read into a teams emotional side you have a 100% guaranteed winner.

I will use last years NFL games where this happened

Cardinals took a wacky loss vs The Giants they thought the player fumbled the ball final minutes of 4th quater when refs said he did not he just laid ball on ground to get back into huddle or something goofy like that this had Cardinals confused and giants went on to score and win the game.

Cardinals couldnt over come that heart breaker loss next week at pathetic vikings they got smoked

week 9 Beat Big Ben in Pittsburgh as a DOG next week away -7 at Seattle crashhhhhhh

Chiefs after Barely Beating the Champs 19-14 next week home - 2 1/2 to rival raiders

Eagles of course after hammering Cowboys 34-7 next game home vs The Bears on MNF - 8 points

LOST the Game 30- 24

Steelers finally upending thier conf. rivals Patriots as a home dog ; next week at home vs rival Ravens - 3 1/2 points lost the game.
