Google what you want and start checking sites.

I don't know of any off the shelf software that works..that can beat the spread

here is a list of football resources

“Marc Lawrence’s Playbook” (annual magazine)

NFL.com - Official Site of the National Football League
Gamblers Book Club - Gamblers Book Shop - Online gamblers book club
Sunshine Forecast Downloadable Data Files (has downloadable past game data)
SportsDataBase.com: Content for winning sites. (this is a sports data base that you can ask questions of…must learn to ask in its language)

Some good books are:
The Hidden Game of Football, Carroll, Palmer and Thorn, 1988 and 1998
Football Betting, Feist and Sturgeon, 1997
Football Betting: Strategies fot the Smart Player, O’Neill, 1996
How Professional Gamblers Beat the Pro Football Pointspread, Miller, 1997
Sharp Sports Betting, Wong

My opinion is that college football and NFL are two different sports, so try to analyze one or the other.

If you are going to analyze data by computer, there are a lot of free stat programs on the net to crunch numbers.

good luck
