Why pinny( and others ) juice a side in the nfl when the public is on the other side
Has anyone followed and kept track of what happens ats- wise when pinny and other books juice a side ?
Particularly in the nfl when it seems they really should be juicing the other side for example, this week in the nfl , it seems the public is on green bay, miami, and san fran. Instead of pinny adding juice to those sides they have : Philly +3 -120 seattle +3 -115 does this mean anything ? Does pinny think the public will lose and is making small road fav look more affordable ? Does pinny think the public is right and is trying to mind fuk the "sharps" ? Does any one have any historical data which shows if a juiced side covers more often then not ? |

oh i get what you are saying. % means number of bets not actual money, so for example on the green bay philly game you might have seen 75% on Green Bay, but the money was actually 1.5 mil on Green Bay and 1.55 on Philly (higher amount per wager placed on Philly). if people kept betting philly and it got up to 1.5 vs. 1.6 then they would have to move the line another .5

The "public" has almost no influence on Pinnacle's line.

likely some massive wagers were placed on philly, thats what always moves pinny lines...although it would takes heaps to move an NFL line.

Im not stating anything
im asking a question instead of having both sides -110 .... Some books ( betjam, thegreek etc. ) juice one team...sometimes the team they juice isnt the team you would expect. For example the entire world was on greenbay and san fran last week.... Money , # of bets , whatever.... And the dogs were juiced......why ? And what does it mean... If anything |

This is 100% correct.
No one give a shit about which side the "public" is on.

so what factors in to making the side juiced?

Action.
The "public" figures you see tossed around so much are in reference to the number of wagers made on a side, not the amount wagered which is obviously the important information.

i dont think anyone in this thread was implying it did. its common sense they would only move the line when it makes sense financially.

They obviously juice some sides to stay away from key teaser numbers as well.....

thats exactly what i was getting at . to make money the book needs to get as close to even money on both sides as possible right? |
