According to a report in the Chicago Tribune, the Chicago Bears have informed former Saskatchewan Roughriders receiver Andy Fantuz he will be waived.

NFL teams must cut their rosters down to 53 players on Saturday, and it appears that Fantuz will be among those cut. The 27-year-old finished the pre-season with two catches for 19 yards.

According the TSN's Dave Naylor, upon clearing waivers, Fantuz can have up to 10 days to pursue another NFL job before his professional rights revert to the Saskatchewan Roughriders, under terms of the contract he signed before the 2010 season.

The Roughriders said they don't know if Fantuz will wait the full 10 days.
