Argonauts Practice Facility Destroyed By Overnight Fire
A fire has destroyed one of the Toronto Argonauts training facilities.
Occurring at approximately 1am local time Friday night, the blaze broke out at the Argos facilities located on the University of Toronto's Erindale Campus in Mississauga.
Towering flames and billowing smoke could be seen coming from the site as officials attempted to contain the blaze.
The Mississauga Fire Department and Emergency Services and Peel Police (11 Division) were dispatched to the scene but could not prevent the destruction of the facility's main office building as well as a portable.
The team released a statement confirming that no one was injured in the fire. An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the fire and the team is currently working to help assess property damage resulting from the fire.
The team has declined further comment while the fire department continues to investigate the situation.
