Bombers -3 Over the Lions????

WOW, just saw the line at the greek and unless lobendan(sp?) and willis who was limping are out, i do not understand this line????

I think i am jumping on this line now and making the bombers the biggest play of the year so far.

Calvillo looks to be OK and play against Hamilton. I am hoping we see a Montreal -7 or more and Hamilton will be a big play there.

May as well use this as discussion thread.

Pinny lines are out:
WPG -4
EDM -9.5
CGY -2.5

Early leans are BC, TOR, CGY. Thoughts?

Leans:

Leo's +4 and ML T.B.A.
Squares keep pumping up that line
Capped this game -2
Perfect winless letdown w/ injuries the oddsmakers know you know about

Argos +9.5 and UNDER 50
Capped at -4 or -5 max
Overflated w/ Eskies 4-0 SU and 4-0 ATS
Public perception is high
Lemon shouldn't even be #1
Bell rings @ Commonwealth

Stamps -2.5
Capped at -4
slight value, can't say performance @ McGill factored
looks like the line is set to bait HOME dog
lotta points but not touching the 53.5

Regulars not practicing Monday included: LB Joe Lobendahn (ankle); SB Terence Edwards (undisclosed); WR Cory Watson (leg); and DE Odell Willis (groin). Head coach Paul LaPolice figures everyone to be on the field today, with the exception of Lobendahn, who may need another day or two

already hit the bombers hard.

i dont know why you think the public perception is huge here. this isnt the NFL, NBA, MLB. outside of canada, 70% of the world doesnt know what CFL is.

just like all us squares jumped on the fishy line of Winnipeg +3 last week or the fishy lines for edmonton +3(a perfect team on the road laying points)

BC will turn things around and they will catch someone at home but they arent going into winnipeg against the best D in the league on the road and coming out ahead.

this BC team is different. hamilton has had troubles in CFL history going to BC and getting a win and they were able to do that.

Surprised to see people liking Calgary. I had this line at a PK or SK -1. What has Calgary done to warrant a play as a road fave? They beat 0-4 BC by 2, and beat the Bombers by 1 in a game where they were outplayed. Home losses to rival Edm and Tor. I still don't buy this team, and to make a play on them laying points against a Rider team who has instantly gained confidence beating the leagues best team on the road, looking for a first home win in a tough place to play. Riders for me. Hope I get a FG.

Also like the Argos getting an inflated line at Commonwealth, and BC to get their first win in Winnipeg. That one just smells like an upset. Would also love to see some homedogs points for the Cats.

Haha...knew you would like the Riders...

You aren't buying what Calgary is selling and I'm not buying what Saskatchewan is selling. Hufnagel > Marshall and I think that may be the difference in this game.

Good luck whatever you play Johnny!

I can tell you the books don't fear us Canadian joe's on CFL. But more so the syndicate powers pounding a closer. This is why sometimes linesmakers often handicap on public perception and not typical variables we often assume so in any sport.
Way too many variables to bet on CFL openers thats why the Koshers have done extremely well. Volume wise you're right there wouldn't be much line moves from Canadian action but the books really fear the late and/or extremely late sharp money these guys drop literally seconds before kick-off. There isn't even a hint which way they go. Thats the advantage of not having many BW types playing CFL.
If you ever get a chance to chat with our Canadian friend Reagan, he'd tell you some great stories.

^^^ Thanks for your very informative posts. I'm a total noob at handicapping football and haven't been very successful. But I'm here to learn from you guys. I don't understand all the lingo and I don't want to be laugh at, but it would be nice if members would give their insights when making their picks so I could learn more. Sorta like Schultz's picks description but more in dept.

Do any of you think Hamilton could win since they had 7 days to prepare and Montreal only 4 days?

Concerning Blue Bombers

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

any thoughts on Pierce and motivation to beat former team and more importantly state of mind of team after coach passing away so suddenly?

^^^ According to what I read, even though the team is is a state of shock, they want to dedicate the next game to Harris so the motivation should be there but the prepareness, I don't know.

Wow, with all those teams hurting this week, it's hard to figure out.
