Labour Day Classic, Bombers v. Roughriders in Regina - Game will be close

The Roughriders suffered a heartbreaking loss at the hands of the Argos after being down 21-1 at one point in the game and losing on a dropped pass in the endzone. But there were plenty of bright spots, more specifically the play of QB Darian Durant and the receiving core. Number 4 put up a staggering 384 yards to go along with 2 TDs and added 54 yards on the ground. However, his impressive performance was blemished by 3 fumbles which arguably cost his team the game. Various wide receivers also made an impact, with Efrem Hill and Weston Drexler combining for 19 catches while Chris Getzlav and James Robinson added highlight reel scores.

The Bombers are coming off a five game win streak after defeating the Ti-Cats last week. Swaggerville looked like there usual self to start the game, with a pick six by DB Javon Johnson to open the scoring. Aside from a lone sack by “Mayor” Odell Willis, the defense was completely swaggerless the rest of the game, giving up 422 total yards, 351 in the air. If it wasn’t for a Joe Lobendahn forced fumble inches from the goal line, it would have most likely been a loss for the boys in blue and gold. Buck Pierce and the offense were rock solid, having a turnover free contest with 293 yards and 2 TDs.
