---------------------------

(Last updated: October 31)

[1] B.C.: Back in the win column and back at the top of the rankings
[2] Edmonton: Status quo with squandered scoring chances vs Lions
[3] Montreal: Turnovers costly in loss to Stampeders
[4] Calgary: Tate goes 2-0 with impressive win over Als
[5] Winnipeg: Loss to Argos hurts quest to finish first in the East
[6] Hamilton: Denied first winning record in nearly a month
[7] Toronto: Played the spoiler role against Bombers
[8] Saskatchewan: Victory snaps five-game losing streak

First pointspread that caught my eye is SKN +8.5

"Ken Miller's tenure with the Saskatchewan Roughriders has come to an end. Miller announced he will step down from his roles as head coach and vice-president of football operations upon completion of the 2011 regular season." --TSN

They probably will lose the game but an effort to try and win this for Miller should keep this within a TD.

No team should be dogged by this much after 17 games.

Second pointspread that caught my eye is WPG +7

Two teams fighting for first in their own Div

Props to Drew Tate last week...he deserved the win as CGY played much better than MTL

WPG lacking consistency at QB but guaranteed their D will show up.

Same as above...too many points for the Fav.

Third pointspread that caught my eye is finally we get MTL as a Dog.

Alouettes has had alot of probs vs Lions in Montreal ...this one's in BC...even worse probs there.

Bourke out for MTL and that will hurt them. Watkins out as well but who cares--he can't catch the ball this year. Bitched alot too so when a player bitches in Montreal out they go to another team the following season. He won't be missed.

BC fighting for first place in the West and the crowd will show up.

BC is the smart play but will wait for the line to move a bit and make a decision then. Neither team is running away with this game.

Last but not necessarily the least is the Game in Toronto.

Boring theory is HAM should win heading into the playoffs to create momentum of emotions and a winning attitude...but they will play on the Road to WPG or MTL no matter what happens in Toronto. So I say play low-key, save players from injuries, and even lose and they will be a heavy dog in the first game of the playoffs and best time to upset and take anybody and/or everybody by surprise is then.

I like Toronto here...give me the doggie.

Considering it's a nothing game for the Als if Winnipeg wins, you may want to wait.

BC is the play anyway because Montreal's not that good.

that's right

but what if SKN upsets in EDM? game is on Friday so it could affect CGY trying to show up stronger, and BC even stronger if CGY wins. (I didn't look into the tie ranking scenario yet but I'll take it day by day and game by game).

maybe it's crazy to play hard and risk a high profile injury to try and W the Bye...for sure there will be some injuries as there's always some. Gotta W the Bye, right? or no?

Three Western home games...two are hosting an Eastern team and the West are stronger vs the East in the second half of the season last couple years.

Me think BC wants it all; the bye and home field through out and will play hard to get it.

What's the status on Jyles from the big helmet hit?

Brink starts for Winny. I like him better than Pierce.

-I buy that.

-Still questionable. We should find out later today. If he starts I'm backing the Argos.

-I don't like either but you do have a good point. Pierce has more experience and can handle pressure more though.

Re: HAM @ TOR:
----------------

Jyles will not play for TOR. I just don't trust Bell for anything right now.

Boltus will see some action for HAM.

"We need to play a cleaner football game and maintain a baseline that may not be playoff level, but it needs to be high enough that we don't have very far to climb the next week," Ticats coach Marcel Bellefeuille said.

Sounds like a pre-season game to me so I'll pass on it.

Perhaps, total under 51 points for Hamilton-Toronto game. Not needing a win, Hamilton may rest top running back and punt returner plus other starters in second half. Rotating 3 quarterbacks might produce mixed results? Also Toronto quarterbacking doesn't inspire confidence, but defense seems to be playing its best now. Total unders in 5 recent Hamilton games especially on the road. Low scoring in 5 previous meetings.

Yep, I'll give that a shot. I expected a Line of 49 though so all these backup QBs might want to impress and light up the scoreboard...but basic logic wins for now. GL with it too.

It all makes sense now. Bellefeuille says ^^^ his team will lose.

First good game for Bell finally arrives...it would be tuff to duplicate had the T-Cats showed up to Win.
