Week 4 by Chris Schultz

Hamilton B.C. Schultz Picks: B.C.: --------------------------------- I think the 33-3 win by the Ticats in Week 3 is mildly misleading. The Riders did not show up and they looked and acted like the heat of the day effected them. With an 0-3 record, B.C. is nothing short of desperate for their first win of the season and they are a better team than their record indicates. A team on a long road trip coming off a win against a home team looking for their first win. I'm going with the latter. Hamilton 27, B.C. 28. 4:00 PM Saturday, July 23, 2011 Winnipeg Toronto Schultz Picks: Winnipeg: ----------------------------------------- I must admit that I'm a believer in the Bombers defence in Week 4. I'm also a believer in Jovon Johnson as a punt return man. Chad Kackert is a good running back, but he does not have the pure physical power of Cory Boyd or the overall skill set of Fred Reid. Both quarterbacks are shell shocked entering the game for different reasons, but I'm taking the Bombers. Winnipeg 24, Toronto 19. 7:00 PM Saturday, July 23, 2011 Edmonton Calgary Schultz Picks: Edmonton: ------------------------------------------- Last year, the Stampeders beat the Eskimos, 56-15, 52-5 and 36-20 in the three games that they played against each other. That's an aggregate score of 146-40. If there is ever a game that head coach Kavis Reed will have an easy time putting his pre-game speech together, this is it. Logic says that Calgary should win as they have the more established players, but that does not mean much to Edmonton. Take the Eskimos. Edmonton 31, Calgary 27. 7:00 PM Sunday, July 24, 2011 Saskatchewan Montreal Schultz Picks: Montreal: ----------------------------------------------- It's an 0-3 team facing a 3-0 team and this game could get ugly. The Riders as individuals need a gut check, as last week's performance was disrespectful to a tradition based organization. When the clubs played in the first week of the season, the Roughriders played tough in the first half and the game was tied 17-17. Montreal took over the game in the second half and that could happen again. Take Montreal. Saskatchewan 24, Montreal 40. Through 12 games, Schultz is 6-6. |
