Toronto, ON (October 14, 2011) – Greg Wilson, a 51-year-old IT consultant from Calgary, kicked his way to big winnings, taking home $31,000 in the seventh annual Wendy's Kick for a Million finale earlier tonight. The big event took place on TSN during halftime of the CFL on TSN: Wendy's Friday Night Football broadcast featuring Calgary at Toronto at Rogers Centre.

Wilson attempted field goals ranging in distance from 20 to 50 yards, with lucrative prizes awarded for each successful kick. While Wilson's kicks fell short from 20, 30, 40 and 50 yards, he did receive $1,000 for every yard the ball travelled through the air from the 50-yard line, netting him $31,000 cash.

Prizes up for grabs tonight included the $1 million in a one-time payout for a successful 50-yard field goal, as well as a Samsung $25,000 Family Package, a 2011 Nissan Titan Crew Cab Pro and $100,000 cash for successful 20-, 30- and 40-yard attempts, respectively.

Wilson was randomly selected from nearly 18 million total entries – the most ever in the history of the contest. He defeated Mississauga, ON's Nick Green in the Wendy's Kick for a Million semifinal last Friday night at Ivor Wynne Stadium in Hamilton to advance to tonight's finale.

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Wilson now lives with his wife in Calgary, AB. During his college days, Wilson was a long-distance runner and he now keeps fit by golfing and playing tennis. The CFL lover is a fan of Henry Burris and the Calgary Stampeders. Wilson had 401 entries in this year's Wendy's Kick for a Million contest.

Tonight's event signals the end of this year's edition of the annual Wendy's Kick for a Million contest – one of TSN's most popular fan contests. All winners are subject to confirmation of contest eligibility.

Wendy's is an official partner of the Canadian Football League.

It seems like everyone after the first guy who won is old. A 51 year old has no shot at all from 40 let alone 50.
