Facebook becoming public next week.. thoughts ?
my initial thoughts would be to buy it right out of the shoot, hope for a good strong week or two of trading, which maybe inflates it too much,,, and sell hopefully for a modest profit.
anyone else ?

That would be the only reason to buy it, for it's initial pop and then get out.

Like M said SB. I would buy it strictly for scalping and day trades but be careful and pick your spots. Let the stock stabilize and form a base 1st, then this will give you a buying opportunity whether its down or up from the IPO price. To just buy is too risky. Let the suckers have at it first my friend.

My opinion of FB after 3 days of trading since the IPO. This is obviously an amazing company and should have IMO opened up somewhere near the mid to upper 20s but who can blame them for taking advantage of the demand. There is a lot of negative sentiment out there right now but don't kid yourself, this boy isn't going anywhere.
Had this company went public 5 years ago the stock chart would look like AAPL until now. I wouldn't pay it any attention until it trades a few weeks and see where it stands, unless your day trading. In which case, your on it every minute of the day. The volume is monumental and the trades have been text book money makes. All controlled TECHNICALLY sound moves. I've been all over this one day trading it like crazy but I won't hold it over night.

Been following most of the news around this (I'm into tech so you cannot turn without running into a FB story) and there seems to be quite a bit of resentment going on. Not too mention lots and lots and lots of finger pointing.
My concerns right off the bat was the P/E ratio, much higher than Google, Apple and friends. Then again, this is a very different company. Over time it will recover, short term I cannot see it stopping it's freefall. Kept my hands in my pocket on this one, kinda glad I did. |

Just day trading the $hit out of it and waiting for a base to form. Definitely looking into Options once available
