A post off another board, I'm not totally in line with this view but i think it's valid

Risk is apart of the equation for sure. But low SP has more to do with the following: (1) lack of a concise story/history that can be easily digested by retail investors. Simply put better define the need, and better define the opportunity. Investors already know that Biotech's are risky and subject to FDA approval. Time to put some of that $ 4.5 m allocated funds (see prospectus re: marketing) to work on the "story"? (2) lack of US exposure. Americans have a huge appetite for this type of play (risk and all). Tell the story, get some business & medical conference coverage, attend some conferences, and watch it go. It's not about risk, it's about lack of exposure. Evidence CTSO. Arguably way more risk (not even Phase I) and they are up 38 % off their recent lows. There has been some increasing OTC interest in EDT in the last week. However, OTC is a barrier, not an invitation. Time to spend some of that allocated $ 4.5 million and create more demand in support of the SP & future interest in the technology (3) Finally it does not seem that there has been a desire on the part of the owner managers to free this stock from its shackles. Some might argue that the shackles are there to enable more pre-positioning by the appropriate "friends and family". OK then the latest 14 million shares + options should have accomplished that. Surely the trough is just about empty & does not need to be refilled yet again. NOW it's truly time to free it from it's shackles.------------ Risk has very little to do with it. That's the difference between a $ 10 + post approval price and what should be the risk adjusted $ 1.50 - $ 2.00 pre- approval price...assuming the right audience is attracted pre-FDA, which I argue can be done with little effort & $. Time to spend some of the $ 4.5m allocated towards marketing !!! Time to get in front of the cameras, & not hide in the shadows. Lay the groundwork for the commercialization phase and aid the sp.

This is a bit technical but it's the most enjoyable part of investing for me.
Yesterday the definition of sepsis was changed and it's extremely positive in supporting this trial.

JAMA Network | JAMA | New Sepsis Diagnostic Guidelines Shift Focus to Organ Dysfunction

correspondence with my sharp as hell buddy who got in a while back

Yeah I totally agree. PMX fits in perfectly with the qSOFA. Studies show PMX helps improve low blood pressure, lactate levels, and organ disfunction (especially the kidneys). And our EAA is what the panel is crying for when they say eventually we need a test to check for biomarkers. After that huge Xigris debacle with C reactive protein, the pharmaceuticals basically abandoned sepsis research. It's almost taboo to be conducting a trial on sepsis but that sentiment is about to be reversed. Sepsis awareness is starting to go viral with these new simpler definitions and Spectral is the only game in town that's ready for prime-time. It's only a matter of time before we get noticed.

I seem to remember that Spectral was very pleased that they didn't have to use SIRS score and these new definitions is the reason why. SIRS is out, and qSOFA is in. Spectral played it perfectly by choosing MODS over SIRS. Imagine if 2 years ago, Spectral went with SIRS criteria and then just before our trial ends, sepsis gets redefined without SIRS? Phewwwww, we dogged a bullet with that 2nd interim analysis move. We are very lucky to have such a sharp team running this trial and this company.

Cormack partially exercised their over-allotment option to purchase an additional 806,804 common shares of EDT, them taking the green shoe even partially is a good sign. I'd expect they exercise the rest before the expiration.

Is the reason for the huge volume? 10x more than average.

no, i don't think the allotment had anything to do with the volume.

Allotment closed.
Past few months sellers have stepped down to the bid, today i'm seeing the bidders step in front of each other on the US side.

We should have a move up over the next bit of time.

Hopefully

A company based in your hometown Skid.

I expect PR shortly, word is there is a DSMB meeting coming up or at least that is what i've read and the company usually updates info following a DSMB meeting.

Hanging tight.

A little upward action today on 400% normal volume but based on the bid-ask we'll probably see a little pullback.

Bozzie, what is the relationship with CTSO? They are a competitor but not active in North America?

No relationship not really even a competitor , they also have a filter but its not for endotoxin.
I like CTSO but the CEO can't seem to get the company moving in any one direction.
They announce earnings the day after tomorrow, it should be positive but without direction i'm not investing.
The CTSO board is very active on Yahoo.

Yeah, that's how I heard of CTSO, on Spectral's Yahoo board. I was pretty confused. Thanks for the clarification.

I'm totally out of my element in biotech. Do you know anything about AXDX? Have a buddy in the industry that says they are pretty dramatically overvalued.

No.. I follow NVIV they had a spectacular day today.
Did you buy on the Canadian or US side ?, EDTXF, up 16% today.
I swear this is one decent news story (not PR)away from exposure on the US market.. All the moves up have been driven by Canadian buyers.
We all know the American appetite for a gamble, especially here.
I expect the PR will be amped up over the next few months.

What is it you invest in mostly Cap?

It's been a long road but one way or another it's over soon.

I bought on the US side. Is there a major difference?

I mostly follow tech stocks and mostly trade options in a modestly sized brokerage account which is a relatively small % of my assets that my beloved wife has no interest in or track of. It's just gambling, although I've been far more successful doing this than I have betting on sports.

Ha...I've done better in the stock market as well.
Only difference is the liquidity on the Canadian side is better but in the end the American side will drive this as we get closer.

I don't really watch the price day to day this is a big picture long game IMO, it all about approval.

Yeah.. I'm more into trying to read broad market sentiment and swings, trading stocks with high levels of volatility, playing earnings, etc. Pretty much what everyone says not to do. But I have a finance background and it works for me.

Option plays tend to be like +300 or +500 bets where you can (usually) limit your downside to about half of the principal if you're paying attention. So you only need to hit 1/3 or 1/4 to be +ev. A few big winners more than make up for a lot of losers.

I also like to take two stocks that are correlated (same industry segment) and buy calls on one and puts on the other, then just hope for volatility. Protects you against broader market movement and gives you the opportunity to make gains on both. Experience has taught me that broader market forces outweigh the quality of a particular company or stock 8 times out of 10. The 9th time the market will act rationally and the 10th time is due to some crazy, material event.
