4 days til Keeneland meet...

With the football season well underway and having gotten my fantasy football leagues under control, its time to start doing some horse handicapping again and what better way to start than with the fall Keeneland meet in Lexington, Ky. The meet will run from Oct. 7 to Oct 29. with 17 days of racing. I believe there is at least 1 stakes race scheduled every day of the meet except for 1 or 2. Some the top horses, especially 2 year olds, and horsemen in the country will be at this meet. I will attempt to post picks for Keeneland everday of the meet except for probably the last 3 days, since we are going there on the 27th, so wont be able to post picks for that day and the next day for sure. The final day of the meet is also Breeders Cup at Belmont.

Nice to see some new faces posting picks on here and hopefully we can get the CM track of the week started again and get some involvement with that from some of the new cappers here.

I handicapped Keeneland for the first time ever this past spring with decent success, especially with my best bets hitting 31 winners out of 74(42%) for an ROI of $2.14. These picks were all posted here at CM and hopefully can have the same kind of success if not better with the fall meet. I feel my handicapping skills since then have improved, so lets hope for the best...

Jockeys at the spring meet included R. Bejarano, G. Stevens, M. Smith, R. Albarado, J. Castellano just to name a few. Bejarano I know has been racing the New York circuit all summer, so not sure if he will be a regular at Keeneland or not, but I figure most of the others will be there for sure.

Looking foward to it, Wabash. Are they a Wed thru Sun track? I will definately chime in when I have the time. Will you have any picks/opinions for The Breeders' Cup since you won't be at a computer?

For those that have never visited Keenland in the fall, I highly recommend it. It is beautiful! Even if my cats aren't winning at that time.

Yes, they will run wed-Sun for the 3 week period of the meet. Our plans are to return home Saturday, the day of the Breeders Cup, so unless I can get a hold of PPs somehow to look at before that, will be tough for me to study any of the Breeders Cup races. May just be a spectator that day...

I have heard that from many others WildKat and the wife and I are looking forward to a 3 day stay there later this month. Any points of interest other than the racetrack you can suggest to see?...
