Foth.....you have to remember that horse racing is PARIMUTUAL betting. The payouts are not fixed. It is based on how much money is wagered on it to show.

Sports odds are fixed at the time you make your wager. Such as Spurs -6 at -120.

The #7 horse paid more to show than the #5 to win.
