Any More Doubters?

I have no idea who finished 2nd, because it looked like Afleet Alex was so far ahead, you couldn't get the place horse in the picture. Afleet Alex is by far, the best 3 year old in the country. I'll take 6/5 if I can win them this easily.

I still feel Lost in the Fog is the best 3 year old in the country.... for sprints anyway, and Afleet Alex really didn't have any competition here.... Giacomo really was over his head in this race, and while I did like Southern Africa, I didn't really feel the rest of this field was much to write home about. Heck, a maiden managed to show!

We'll never be able to compare Lost in the Fog and Afleet Alex, they'll never run against each other. Let's see how the BC races end up and if Afleet Alex can beat the older horses this fall and if Lost in the Fog can win the BC sprint.

It's a shame that we put so much emphasis on the classic distances, when a top sprinter can ship all over the country and win against fields (in some cases) that are equal to or tougher than the fields faced by the routers.

Back to my bread and butter... 5k claimers.

Thanks skeeter, I can't wait to get back here full time with my round up of usual tracks. All input here is welcome, and as you do know guys like Wabash and myself always try to respond to all questions or thoughts you guys post.

Good for you backing afleet all the way bro, this was the first race I back him on... and I have to say, I don't consider him a superstar horse yet, he needs to prove himself this summer up in Saratoga and maybe the Haskell at monmouth before I will get behind him and say he is a good horse.

It's a huge shame that the potentially great horses all head out to stud so early, Smarty Jones, Fushiagi Pegasus (who my grandmother calls 'that Japanese horse'), etc. If Afleet Alex can prove himself in the BC, then he will earn himself a spot in history.

I wish I could bro... field assignment is kicking my ass! Commuting out to JFK airport from here in Jersey is a killer! I am also closing on a new house in July and my son is getting bigger and I want to spend more and more time with him when I am not in the car (took 4 hours to get home friday night).

I'll be back sooner than you know bro!

Thanks bro... I do plan on using a lot of vacation time on fridays if the commute is going to be that bad every week... heck I packed 3 meals for the day on friday and ate all of them! Wabash is a very good capper so I am sure tailing him will suit you just fine for now. You know the ways the boards are, people cycle through and there is always someone good somewhere at sometime!

I may see if I can find a decent printer in my office trailer to do some tracks once and while... I am missing my race cappin'!

It looks like Lost in the Fog is going to be one of the better sprinters to have come around in quite a while. Both Lost in the Fog and Afleet Alex run all over the country. They are two special horses. Obviously Alex was the class of a very soft field. You know, it is too bad that the Derby has gone to that 20 horse field, because I think that it can really eat into the possibility of the best horse winning. Why not limit it to 12, or maybe 14 at the outside? Most of those horses do not even belong in that race.
