Bad Beat at Indiana Downs

I don't beat the trotters( harness, chariots) very often. I was at Indiana Downs last night and a older gentleman, sitting beside me, told me that the #3 in the 12th was their horse. He later told me that he works for the trainer/driver of that horse and that it should do real well. That was enough to get my attention. I was down 150 or so at the time so I was going to put a little on this horse. I put 40 wps. The horse goes off around 5-1. It wins the race, but goes offstride about 8 feet from the finish line. Apparently, this is cause for it being dropped to the next position down. I ended up getting second instead of first. It still paid 6 something to place and whatever to show, but I had never seen a horse go offstride at the wire. The guy had another horse in the next race that he didn't know much about and it won in a dead heat going off at 11-1. So I ended up winning that night only to lose it all at the casino...............

Yeah thats exactly why I try to stay off trotters. Heard too many horror stories similar to that one from my father in law and the other old guys at the OTB here. Saw something similar to that about 2 months ago, cost the guy next to me about 2 grand in his exacta bet. Sucks when they break so close to the finish, when it looks wrapped up

thats why i cant stand harness...****ing horse is cruising around the turn in front by about 3 lengths and then he just goes haywire and ends up in dead last. Happens way too much if you ask me.
