Dude, That's not funny!! I seen the word "dead" and thought that I had missed something. That's the one thing about this sport that really gets to me. I hope and pray that horses don't lose their lives for my entertainment....

I agree WildKat. I get on this morning and the first thing I see was this thread and thought the worst. FBHERO...Try to use better judgement when posting a headline for a thread. Your thread headline leads everyone to think the worst...

wow......that's unreal, i don't follow horse racing at all but from what i've read and the praise this horse is getting, he was one of a kind and to get into such an unfortunate accident, very sad for the sport.

From what I know, he is still in surgery now....

Surgery commences for Barbaro
By JAY PRIVMAN

Surgery for Barbaro, the Kentucky Derby winner who was seriously injured in the Preakness Stakes on Saturday at Pimlico, began shortly after 12:30 p.m. Eastern time on Sunday at the George D. Widener Hospital for Large Animals at the University of Pennsylvania's New Bolton Center in Kennett Square, Pa.

Barbaro was taken to New Bolton on Saturday night, hours after suffering multiple fractures in his right hind leg.

On Saturday, it was announced that Barbaro had a fracture to the cannon bone above the ankle, and to the long pastern bone below the ankle. But shortly before the surgery on Sunday, Dr. Dean Richardson, the chief of surgery at New Bolton, said there were additional, serious injuries.

Specifically, Richardson said Barbaro also had a fractured sesamoid bone, and that the right hind ankle was dislocated at the fetlock joint. Richardson said he expected the surgery to take more than three hours.

"It's a very complicated procedure," Richardson said. "We'll be attempting to fuse the entire joint. I don't want to give any prognosis for success until further review during the surgery.

"It is very unusual to have three catastrophic injuries all together. I've never seen this exact fracture and I never tackled one before."

Barbaro is still in surgery, TVG will go to the post surgery news conference live, no indication as to when that would be.

Where did he hear this info? I haven't seen a report yet that states that. It's amazing that these million dollar horses can't have something invented that would allow them to survive or get through these injuries.

I have been around Cappers Mall for a very long time now and all those who know me know that my love of the horse races is very strong. What happen yesterday just made me sick and almost 24 hours later I am still sick about what I saw yesterday. I know its part of the industry and these things happen but to see it happen to a horse that looked like a machine 2 weeks ago makes it tougher and that much more shocking.

Now what I about to say may shock some people and I know it is going against mall rules but I must get this off my chest.

I read this thread when it was first started and just shook my head. But the more I think about this thread the more pissed I get.

Whoever edit the title of this thread gets kudos from me. Just a low class job by a nobody who started this thread with the original title. If I were still a mod in this forum I would ban your ass for such a piss poor admit at trying to get attention. You have no credibility with me whatsoever and are a jerkoff. As for DollarBills trying to be the National Enquirer and break some news that his local heard is just flat out moronic. Your going to tell me that some local jocal is going to know what happen before all the major media outlets that are following this story. Give me a break, use your head before posting.

I have read many a post on this forum and just walked away to cool down and 99.5% of the time that has worked. But here I am typing this almost 3 hours after first reading this thread and I am still hot. No need for post like this on this forum. This is by far the classiest forum on the internet and run by some great people and to have a smackoff like fbzero post that crap is infurating to me. Use your head for once in your life before typing the crap you typed in your title.

Dr. Jack and the mods, I do issue an apology for this outburst but I feel fbzero should be held accountable for such a low class moronic post.

Just watched ESPN News and the reporter said that there are 60-70 media members at the center where the operation is taking place and Dollar Bills local knew something before everyone else.

I am still shaking my head at the stupidity of some posters.

The Courier Journal states that he is in 5th hour of Surgery. Also, I am upset just like you, but I don't think Dollar Bills meant to post something in the way that many have received it. I'm not making excuses for him, but I know that he cares about horses and adds alot of imput in several forums. I personally appreciate your concern for horses. Every time that I click to get an update, my stomach gets in a knot.. Hang in there buddy.......

All the more reason to use his head before he posts. I have followed his post and do have respect for DollarBill but to post what he posted without the facts is inexcusable. I just feel that it is only common sense that some local is NOT going to have the news before the national media is going to break it.

My real disdain though is for the thread starter who just has NO CLASS at all posting that title.
