Bob's Derby Contest

I glanced through the rules, --- mint juleps are flowing, so hopefully I understand:

Balance: $500.00

Churchill Downs Race 10
$500 WPS
08 Hard Spun

looks like you had too many mint juleps...since you only have $500 to bet, you cant bet $500 to WPS, that would cost $1500...too bad too since he ran second...

I am sure the Greek did, but for the contest, you only have a $500 bankroll, so you cant place a bet of $500 to WPS because that would cost $1500, not $500

Im not going to argue with you Bob... the bottom line is your bet doesnt count because you were not clear as to what it was. The way you posted it meant you placed $500 to WPS which is a $1500 bet. so you still have $500 to bet I would say . Someone else want to help out and explain to Bob what he did wrong. Thanks...

Looks very similar to this bet:
Grand Gouda's Derby Weekend Contest

Can I get a ruling here?

looking at the play wabash is right maybe if u said $150wps which would be 450.with the link u showed he also would have been incorrect but he clarified it by putting 150 for the win 150 place and 150 show

I see that, but the fact that I quoted my balance should mean that I realize I only have $500 to play with.

yes, but he corrected himself by stating $150 across the board, if he hadnt, his bet would not have counted either.

I dont really care one way or the other, I was just trying to help Jack by going thru some of the posts to be sure everyone was correct with their bets. Your post of $500WPS is an invalid bet, period, but let Jack make the decision.

For the record I played the #8 WPS 10/10/10 which cost me $30.

A WPS would have cost you $1500 with the numbers you listed.

Congrats, it looks like I should head back to the Greek.

I'm not much of a horse better , but I still have done it in the past, no idea wtf a mint julip or whatever is but... when I see someone say $500 on WPS, I think of WPS with equal parts of the $500 - meaning 166.66666666667 each?
