My Picks in order of preference for Exotic Plays

Distaff:SIGHTSEEK-ELLOLUV-GOT KOKO-TAKE CHARGE LADY
With no Azeri in the race, Sightseek looks to be in the
catbird's seat

Juvenile Fillies:SOCIETY SELECTION-TARLOW-CLASS ABOVE-
HALFBRIDLED
This race is really a toss up to me. I guess it all boils down to which prep race you think carries the most weight. I'm going with the Frezette, in that race Society Selection closed like a freight train and I like that.

Mile:PERFECT SOUL-DESIGNED FOR LUCK-SIX PERFECTIONS-
OASIS DREAM
Howsa "bout a little brain f--k! Do you go with an improving G2 winner or a superstar from yonderland who has never ran past 7f? Or, a proven G1 winner with five 100+ speed figures, the best of which was his last, and just for fun lets throw in a French shipper with tons of class and J Bailey in the irons, but has never raced on a hard/firm turf course? I'm goin' with the racing style of Perfect Soul.

Sprint:SHAKE YOU DOWN-VALID VIDEO-ETHAN MAN-CAPTAIN
SQUIRE
The formula is easy. First, any horse with balls is out. Second, the oldest ball-less horse is out. Third, the ball-less horse with the lowest speed rating in his last race is out. Fourth, the oldest ball-less horse who didn't win his last race is out. Lastly and most importantly, any ball-less horse who doesn't run a bullet works doesn't understand the nature of his existence and therefore is out!!! This formula only leads to one choice.

Fillys&Mares Turf:MUSICAL CHIMES-HEAT HAZE-TATE'S CREEK-
VOODOO DANCER
I've watched the Yellow Ribbon race a number of times and I'll tell you this, G Stevens loss that race because he didn't stay close enough to the leaders! That won't happen this time.

Juvenile:CHAPEL ROYAL-MINISTER ERIC-CUVEE-RACE FOR GLORY
This is the toughest race of the day for me. All of these babies have speed and the breeding to go the distance. I guess the real question is who'll have the most left in the tank at the top of the lane? Chapel Royal seems to be able to rate the best and having gone the distance is a plus.

Turf:SULAMANI-HIGH CHAPARRAL-STORMING HOME-FALBRAV
This one is like watching a quarter horse race. My only interest is that my horse breaks clean and the last fifty yards to the finish. I gotta go with the pro.

Classic:CONGAREE-MEDAGLIA d'ORO-PERFECT DRIFT-VOLPONI
Since 1994, every horse that has won the BC Classic has recorded at least five 100+ Beyer figures during the year. Last year there were six horses who recorded five or more 100+ Beyer figures. The only two with five were War Emblem and Came Home. There were four horses who recorded six or seven. Those four were Medaglia d'Oro and Evening Attire with seven and Milwaukee Brew and Volponi with six. Interestingly, those four horses made up the $28,000 superfecta! This year Congaree, Perfect Drift and Volponi each have six. Evening Attire has five. No one else qualifies. An added note: Medaglia d'Oro has only raced four times this year, but does have four 100+ Beyer figures. He would be breaking the trend if he wins!!!

All comments appreciated. Good luck to all----Buster

Storming Home and Gary Stevens...I promise you he's not falling off again and will not get beat this time. My BEST BET of the day.

You want a couple of decent prices? Try these. I know I will.

DIMITROVA 12-1
YANKEE GENTLEMAN 6-1
SARAFAN 10-1
CHAPEL ROYAL 8-1
DYNEVER 15-1
ZOSIMA 15-1

GOOD LUCK AND SEE AT THE WIRE.

The Distaff
I'll join the majority opinion - it looks like Sightseek's to lose. Elloluv is my back-up choice and TCL would be the most obvious longshot choice if one was to choose to go that route in this race.

The Filly Juv
Favorites aren't going to win all these races and the most obvious races in which to look for a longshot are the full fields and the Juvys just because a 2 yr old can make a major move foward from one race to the next. Note the following last race splits for last race winners - splits will be 6F and final times whether it be a mile or a mile & a 16th
Be Gentle 1:12.2 1:45.2
Class Above 1:12.8 1:39
Halfbridled 1:12.4 1:43.3
Society Select 1:12.5 1:43.8
Victory USA 1:12.2 1:44.1
Zosima 1:10.6 1:36
I have to key Zosima with with the above. I can't believe ARL was playing 15 lengths faster than Kee when Class Above won the KyCupJuv or 10 lengths faster when Halfbridled won the Oakleaf at SA. Zosina didn't face much but you Beyers boys have to respect the 89 she earned which was pretty close to Class's 92. Zosima is very capable of finishing 2nd and if Halfbridled takes a misstep .......

The Mile
Six Perfections and Special Ring on top. Ring has the numbers and he looked great winning the Eddie read in 1:34.4. They gave him a break and I believe the OakTreeMile was really just a tune-up for this. Six Perfections has never finished worse than 2nd in 9 career starts and beat Domedriver in her last race. In the 2 before that she missed by a nose, first to Yesterday and then to Bright Sky. This is probably the classiest horse in the field.

Designed For Luck, Oasis Dreams, Sarafan and Peace Rules all could get 2nd money. I'm tossing Touch Of The Blues who, in 12 G1 & G2's has one G1 win and one G2 win. I think he's out classed in this field.

The Sprint
Shake You Down is my top pick. Forget everything in the PPs before Lake took over - Lake is 6 wins for 7 starts with this horse and for you Beyers boys, those wins earned 121, 118, 118, 115, & 113 BSFs.
Aldebaran might get 2nd but if he's too far back when he makes his run, I think he'll run out of real estate before he gets to the wire. Capt Squire, Midas Eyes, Yankee Gent, Posse & Great Notion fill out the tri & super.

Filly & Mare Turf
Isington looks best and I think most agree that she is a possible single in the Pk-3, Pk-4 & Pk-6 if you're bankroll dictates you must choose sparingly.
Back-ups are Tates Creek and Yesterday with Dimitrove, Voodoo Dancer amd Musical Chimes filling out the tri. I think the ALL button for the last position in the Super would be wise but it would cost too much.

The Juv
Chapel Royal would be my top pick if I were singling but I think Curvee needs to be put in there and no way do I leave Lukas out when Race For Glory ran as well as he did in the Cavonnier. I will be going much deeper than these 3 on my Pk-3's and 4 with Action This Day and Capitano. I haven't a clue about Relaxed Gesture but he did win a Gp2 last out. Anyone have an opinion on how this colt might run on the dirt?

The Turf
Falbrav - last 3 Timeforms are 131+, 127+, and 130+ which is absolutely outstanding. Maybe the best horse in Europe? Could be but not at this distance. He's 6 for 6 at a mile and a quarter but only 1 for 5 at a mile and a half.
Sulamani looks like the "now" horse for this race and he's 6 for 9 at the distance followed closely by High Chapparel who is 9 for 12 lifetime and 3 for 5 at the distance. The top American horse in this race is Storming Home who has won only 3 of 11 tries at the distance. Storm finished ahead of Sulamani in the ARL MIL but was disqualified when he interfered with Sulamani down the stretch. My concern in here is that no one will challange The Tinman early and if he gets easy early fractions, he could pull a Bucks Boy and wire this field.

The Classic
I'm going with Congaree on top. I've never been a backer of this horse at this distance but of all the horses in this field who have tried the distance more than twice, he's the only one who has finished in the money in all his mile & a quarter races. I now believe he can "get" the distance.
It would be foolish to toss Medaglio from consideration for the top spot so he'll be on my tickets also.
10MW looks like the most logical upsetter if there will be one.
I have no idea how Funny Cide will run. he looked way off form in his last race so I'm going to toss him.

Race for Glory is trained by D Wayne Lucas who says this filly is coming into the race exactly where he wants her. Look for her to run well in the Juvenile. Valid Video posted by Ya, is a fast horse coming off a dominating win at Saratoga and appears good enough to win the Sprint. Elloluv will improve off last race and could pull an upset in the Distaff. Peace Rules has ran some solid races this year and should hit the board in the Mile. Funny Cide won the Derby and Preakness so we know he can go the distance, and he should be a bargain as it will be hard for most to back him after a long layoff.
