Breeders' Cup Thread

If you're going to be around your computer today please give your thoughts on each race as they approach. I watched LONE STAR yesterday and only ONE horse came from more than 6 lengths back to win or even be in contention. That scares me a bit with SWEETCATOMINE being a closer that I singled and plan on betting in the Juvy Fillies.

I don't follow Lone Star Park much, my impression was that it was always a speed favoring track. I heard an interview with the track announcer for Lone Star and he said that the track plays very fair both on the turf and the main track. The track is a bit wet...racing will start at good probably get to fast sometime in the day. The Turf course is yielding. The track announcer said that speed does do a bit better when the track has moisture but overall is still very fair. For what its worth....

Don't forget the humidity for the European horses. It's going to be 75 with 50% humidity, and that can take its toll on horses not used to it.

Okay, the first of the Breeders' races is 20 minutes away. I'm going to watch the odds and take Nebraska Tornado if it stays at 10/1 and up.

Well he's down to 5/1 and I don't think that's enough value for me.

I love the Breeders Cup, the quality of the horses and all. I'm not sure they are rreally good betting races though...Give me a Maiden sprint in So Cal any day.
