Calder and Fairgrounds 1/2...

Gonna try giving a little insight into each of my picks today just for the fun of it...I'll try to make them sound like good picks anyway lol...

Calder

3rd Race #10 LaAspera 5/1....5 Year old mare bred in Argentina is comming off a 60 day layoff but has raced 3 sprints on the turf finishing 2nd,3rd and 5th losing by a total of 4 lengths against much tougher than todays group. Trainer is 50%(3/6) 1st time out after a layoff of 60 days or more. Use the #3 Tias Miss in an exacta box.

9th race #5 Code of Justice 6/5...4 year old Filly has won 4 of her last 6 races against similar company including the last 2 handily. I dont see anyone in this group stopping her from making it 3 in a row.

Fairgrounds

3rd race #5 All Teed Up 5/2.... 5 year old gelding makes his second start off an almost 3 month layoff after finishing 3rd against much tougher just 9 days ago. Use the #2 Tuff Man Dan in an exacta box.

4th race #5 Qui Nelson Qui 3/1...5 year old grey mare is back after a year layoff. She had 3 seconds, 1 third and 1 fourth place finish in 5 races in 2003 against much tougher Maiden Special Weight class. Some recent 5 furlong works is enough to get her in form to beat this group.

9th race #8 Prepster 9/2...4 year old grey colt finished 3rd last ime out beaten 1 and 1/2 lengths against 50K allowance 35 days ago. Trainer Asmussen wins at a 23% clip when returning from 30-60 day layoff. Drpping down to 30K Allowance should fit just right here.

10th race #6 Carlea 3/1...3 year old Filly just missed last time out by a head against much tougher. That was on Nov. 19, but has had a few good works since including a bullet work(1/76) just over a week ago. Trainer is off to a hot start winning at 56% so far this meet and leading jockey Robby Albarado gets the ride.

Good Luck to all today at the races...
